Astral Dendrites

Astral Dendrites

The large-scale structure of the universe, like astral dendrites

Or the cilia of a jellyfish, delicate stellar gel

When all of eternity bleeds into each other

And we stare at the back wall of the Universe

Echoes of incomprehensible structures

Flutter at the very reaches of our understanding

Primordial creation still radiates weakly

And permeates all of existence

A tiny spark of creation, swimming through infinity

Where gauzy tendrils of universe managed to congeal

Into clots of carbon atoms that can feel and think

About such as things

As astral dendrites

Astral Dendrites - Poem by Brittany Ward
He makes everything beautiful in its time . . . Ecclesiastes 3:11
